The first Country championships were held in 1954 at the Balmain Table Tennis Centre.

In 1967 the Country League formed and now the NSW Country Table Tennis League purpose is to;

                              Conduct the annual NSW Country Championships 

                              Support Country inter-association challenge matches

                              Provide/organise coaching session and assistance to Country coaches

                              Assistance to new Clubs/Associations to get up running

                              Organise interstate or overseas tours for Country players/teams

                              Be a voice for input into Table Tennis NSW matters
